Students and staff are busily preparing songs and skits for our annual concert to be presented on Wednesday, December 16. There will be two shows: 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM in the school gym. All are welcome to attend!

Gr. 1 – 8 progress reports will be sent home on Wednesday, December 2 at the end of the day.

Mrs. Jarvis is very happy to welcome four new teachers to the staff at SJD. Miss Melanie Schill will be the Gr. 1/2 teacher, Mrs. Angela Plaunt will be the Gr. 6/7 teacher; Mme Nicole Swift will be the French teacher; and Mr. Bryan Nanni will be the Release teacher. Welcome to all new and returning staff!
Ms. Portis will begin soccer practices very soon. Mrs. Jarvis has begun organizing the annual soccer tournament to be held in early October.
The staff at SJD is looking forward to a brand new year beginning on Tueday, September 8. See you then!
Another curling season has just ended, and once again, Mrs. P. Bernath (organizer) was very happy with the level of commitment and ability displayed by the curlers. Mrs. Chandor-Hall was helping throughout the season. Mrs. Bernath and the students were disappointed they weren’t able to compete in the Sault this year due to the annual BonSoo bonspiel being cancelled, but they enjoyed their season

A very successful floor hockey season ended on March 13 after six weeks of exciting play during morning and afternoon recesses. 53 students from Gr. 3 – 6 participated, and 15 Gr. 7 & 8 students coached the teams. Mrs. Jarvis organized the league and was very impressed with the high levels of inclusion, sportsmanship and competitiveness.
