Gr. 1 – 8 Progress Report Pick-up

On Wed., Nov. 5, parents may pick-up their children’s progress reports from 3:45 – 6:15 and meet with their teachers. Appointments will not be scheduled. See you there!


Student Council Elections

Student Council elections were held on October 20. Congratulations to President Sierra, Vice-President Adam, Secretary Johnny, Treasurer McKenna, Gr. 7/8 Class Rep. Anna, Gr. 6/7 Class Rep. Kaylee and Gr. 4/5 Class Rep. Josh. We’re looking forward to many fun activities!


Wawa Cup Soccer

The 20th annual Wawa Cup Elementary School Soccer Tournament was held on October 1 at the Michipicoten Community Centre sports fields and hosted by Sir James Dunn. Seven teams from Wawa, Chapleau and Dubreuilville vied for the coveted cup throughout the day. Welcome Back BBQ & Openhouse

Our Welcome Back BBQ and Openhouse will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 23 from 5:00 – 6:30. Hotdogs, hamburgers, water and juiceboxes will be sold for $1 each. Thank you to Katrina Beerkens and her helpers for organizing the bbq!


Sports Seasons Begin

On your mark, get set, GO!  in early September, the Running Club will begin practicing for the ADSB Cross-Country Running Meet to be held in SSM in early October. SJD’s Got Talent!

  SJD’s got talent – musical dancing, magical and comical talent that is! On Friday, May 9, students, from as young as Senior Kindergarten  to our oldest students in Gr. 8, sang, played the piano, recorders and guitar, danced, told jokes and performed magic for an audience made up of students, staff, parents and grandparents. Birth Announcement

The Kindergarten class  is pleased to announce that two chicken eggs hatched in their classroom.  They have named the chicks Mohawk and Zelda.  The chicks hatched on the weekend and some students were able to see one of the chicks hatching.  The whole school was very excited to see the cute, fluffy, yellow chicks on Monday morning. Baseball season

Mrs. Jarvis is looking forward to the snow melting and the baseball field drying up so baseball season can start! The tournament is set for June 6, so baseball players need to get on the field soon!
