Basketball Practices starting!!

Girls practice on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Lunch. Boys practice on Mondays and Thursdays after school.


Soccer Season Begins

We’ve arrived back at school so that means for many students thats a chance to play school sports. Ms. Portis and Ms. Russell have started soccer practices Monday, Wednesdays and Fridays at lunch, Preparing the 6/7/8’s ready for the soccer tournament that is scheduled for Wednesday October 5th. Good Luck to our Cougars!


Floor Hockey Intramurals

Over 80 boys and girls from Gr. 3 – 8 participated in the floor hockey intramural leagues during recesses this winter. Gr. 3 – 6 students were coached by Gr. 7 & 8 students. Gr. 7’s & 8’s also played during three recesses each week. Mrs. Jarvis was amazed at the level of commitment, sportsmanship and support that was displayed all the time!


Basketball Season

Ms. Portis and Mr. Naccarato are looking forward to taking their boys and girls basketball teams to the tournament in Wawa on March 10. They will also be competing in a tournament in Hornepayne on April 7. The game everyone is really looking foward to is the game against the teachers on March 11. GO COUGARS!

Soccer Season

Ms. Portis will begin soccer practices very soon. Mrs. Jarvis has begun organizing the annual soccer tournament to be held in early October.


Curling Season

Another curling season has just ended, and once again, Mrs. P. Bernath (organizer) was very happy with the level of commitment and ability displayed by the curlers. Mrs. Chandor-Hall was helping throughout the season. Mrs. Bernath and the students were disappointed they weren’t able to compete in the Sault this year due to the annual BonSoo bonspiel being cancelled, but they enjoyed their season

Floor Hockey Intramurals

A very successful floor hockey season ended on March 13 after six weeks of exciting play during morning and afternoon recesses. 53 students from Gr. 3 – 6 participated, and 15 Gr. 7 & 8 students coached the teams. Mrs. Jarvis organized the league and was very impressed with the high levels of inclusion, sportsmanship and competitiveness.

Congratulations to our boys and girls basketball teams on a very successful season under the coaching skills of Ms. Portis (girls) and Miss Russell (boys). Wawa Cup Soccer

The 20th annual Wawa Cup Elementary School Soccer Tournament was held on October 1 at the Michipicoten Community Centre sports fields and hosted by Sir James Dunn. Seven teams from Wawa, Chapleau and Dubreuilville vied for the coveted cup throughout the day.
