Winter Fun Day

On March 4, Student Council, Ms. Portis and Miss Russell organized an afternoon of winter events for the entire school. Teams of JK – Gr. 7 students rotated to all the events, while Gr. 8 students ran the events. It was a beautiful day, and everyone had a great time!


Clubs

Mrs. Bernath couldn’t believe the number of students from Gr. 1 – 8 who participated in Lego Club during lunch hour on Tuesdays throughout January and February. Mrs. Chandor-Hall and Mrs. Beerkens enjoyed playing board games with JK – Gr. 4 students on Thursdays during lunch at the Board Games Club. SJD’s the place to be!


Remembrance Day Contest Winners

Congratulations to Emma, Fynn, Alexis, Lyllie, Kyston, Logan, Brooke, Kaiden, Julien, Liam, Adam, Ethan, Sebastien, Cheyenne, and Adam on placing first, second or third in the annual Legion’s Remembrance Poster, Essay and Poems contests.


Kindergarten Registration

All incoming JK and new SK students are welcome to register for kindergarten at anytime. Please contact us at 705-856-2517 to set up an appointment.


Sports and More Sports!

Mrs. Bernath has begun the curling season on Thursdays after school at the municipal curling rink for Gr. 5 – 8 students. Mr. Naccarato and Ms. Portis have started basketball try-outs for Gr. 6 – 8 students during lunch hours. Mrs. Jarvis is looking forward to a great season of intramural floor hockey for Gr. 3 – 6 students and their coaches in Gr.

Clubs and More Clubs!

Mrs. Bernath is starting Lego Club on Tuesdays during lunch for Gr. 1 – 8 students. Mrs. Chandor-Hall and Mrs. Beerkens will be running a Board Games Club for JK – Gr. 3 students during lunch on Thursdays. Miss Schill will be starting a Reading Club on Mondays and Wednesdays during lunch in the near future. SJD’s the place to be!


Curling Season

Curling season will begin on January 7 for students in Gr. 5 – 8 at the curling rink every Thursday for eight weeks from 4:00 – 8:00. There is no cost to participate. Mrs. Patty Bernath and Mrs. Chandor-Hall will be coaching.
